Das vom Volkswagenwerk gestiftete Schwimmbad wurde in nur 90 Tagen fertiggestellt. Es liegt am Stadtrand im Wald. Die erforderlichen Funktionsräume wurden in die umgebende Landschaft eingebettet. Es sind klar gegliederte, langgestreckte Baukörper mit vorgelagerten Pavillons. Der Stahlbetonsprungturm ist eine besonders gut gelungene "Skulptur". Sanierungsarbeiten haben das ursprüngliche Erscheinungsbild stark verändert.

The swimming baths which were donated by the Volkwagen concern are situated at the edge of the town. The necessary functional areas are contained in a clearly articulated, elongated building structure with pavilions placed in front, embedded in the surrounding landscape. The reinforced concrete diving platform tower is an especially splendid "sculpture". Renovation work has greatly altered the original appearance.
